Why do I need to take this test?
The most common reason a patient is asked to perform a pulse Oximetry test is that Medicare / Medicaid is requiring an independent lab to verify for them that a patient requires oxygen before they will provide coverage. Other insurance companies may also require this testing for the same reasons. In addition, your physician may use this data for other diagnostic purposes.

The company that supplies my oxygen has already tested me; do I still need to do this test?
The reason you are being tested by our company is that test results from an independent lab are required to qualify your need for oxygen before many insurances and Medicare / Medicaid will pay for the oxygen equipment.

Can I get a copy of my test results?
Yes, you may. Because of HIPPA regulations protecting the privacy of your medical information, we only release the results to your doctor and the company supplying your oxygen. If you would like a copy of your test results, let us know and we can fax an additional copy to your doctor’s office or your oxygen provider.
